Yin Is In! Yin Yoga is getting a lot of attention lately, probably because our “yang” dominated lifestyles are asking for more balance. Daily stress impacts our body and mind.
Even though we long to be at ease and enjoy the present moment, we tend to keep going, because we don’t know any other way.
The Yin Yoga practice is designed to create space to just be, to rejuvenate the body, clear the mind, open up the heart and allow energetic healing to take place.
So welcome to the Yin Side, an invitation to bring healing and balance to our fast paced life.
Yin Yoga Teacher Training in a nutshell is all about how to:
- Maintain and rejuvenate the body
- Practice mindfulness principles on a physical level to create peace in our mind
- Connect to the Daoist wisdom of the meridian chi flow in our bodies - harmonize body, mind and soul
Yin yoga is simple, but not easy. And sometimes being still is the toughest of all asana. The stillness of the long-held static stretches with relaxed muscles allow the space to practice mindfulness and awareness.
In Yin Yoga we embrace our physical limitations, we work with the body just as it is. This in itself is an amazing thing. We are practicing acceptance, surrender to gravity, and connect our body to a Zen state of mind.
While we are expanding our flexibility and rejuvenate our joints, we reveal and release deep layers of tension held within your fascia.
The therapeutic healing wisdom of the Daoist philosophy provides insight and guidance to get in touch with our body, mind, and soul.
We get the unique opportunity to release emotional tension, free stagnant or blocked energy, and to cultivate a peaceful quality of mind.
At the end of this training you will have 60 hours of Yoga Alliance approved continuing education!
The Complete Guide to Yin Yoga: The Philosophy and Practice of Yin Yoga by Bernie Clark
Yoga Nidra is the relaxing and mystical journey deep into the inner-realms of consciousness where through a guided meditation, you get to experience your True Nature, something that feels one with all things, infinite, and whole. Such wholeness leads naturally to profound healing, boundless equanimity, and and understanding of your life, unparalleled by every-day thinking. Stress, trauma, and scarcity seem insignificant after you've experienced the part of you that is infinitely larger than any of these smaller experiences. Truly, through Yoga Nidra you see into the vastness of the Universe that is within you.
One of the things that differentiates Yoga Nidra from other forms of mindfulness is its emphasis on getting relaxed as the gateway to experiencing your True Nature, that of Awareness itself.
The effects of Yoga Nidra are as profound as they are relaxing. Through practicing awareness, you experience yourself, your REAL self, without boundaries, fears, or limitations. You open up to astounding and beautiful clarity about who you are. It opens you to feel at one with all things, increases your capacity for love, and helps you to be more compassionate. It shows you your gifts for the world, shows you your strength and power, and helps you feel as though someone has turned up all the colors of your life.
This training is for teachers and seekers who want to explore Yoga Nidra beyond a technique -- as a state of consciousness. Our emphasis will be on:
- Sacred Self Care, Creativity, Intuition, Healing, Ritual, Nature as Teacher and Sankalpa Shakti
